This letter speaks for itself. The issue is what can we do to support? Land is at the centre of everything; it is being used in the Amazon, like in the UK, for the benefit of the corporations and the well-off all over the world. The consequences are devastating for both local communities and the environment. We need to make sure in this country that our practices are in solidarity with the indigenous groups in the Amazon. This means not eating products that are implicated in deforestation (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-53438680). It also means challenging corporations- agribusiness, mining, timber etc where we can in the UK. The government needs to support the right of all indigenous tribes to have the last say on what happens on their land.
